    Shell V-Power

I know Shell V-Power advertises all the extra cleaning additives and better MPG and all that, but has anyone found out if it's fact?

I started using it because Shell is convenient to me at my school now. I live 3 and a half hours from my house (I live in a dorm away from home).
First time I drove home, I got about 27 MPG according to my computer.
    Second time 29.1
    Yesterday I got 31.4.
My average speed is usually ~72-74. Although yesterday it was 73.1 until I got a speeding ticket, then it lowered a bit.

Anyway, anyone know anything about this gas? It's only one cent more per gallon than other gas stations, and at home in Cary, NC it's cheaper than nearby stations.

I only use Chevron. Always have, always will.

Unless the gasoline you were using before was pure horse piss, I really doubt the Shell gas's additives would make as much of a difference as youre thinking.

Me either. That's why I'm curious, because I didn't drive any differently, and there was a big difference.
Each time I drove home, I filled up from roughly 1/2 tank to full, so slowly transferred from what I previously bought to Shell V-Power.

I usually drive ~85-90 on highway (Stupid I know) and just slow down when someone's in front of me and wait to pass. I never drive differently.
Gonna go slower after that ticket though =P

But anyway, I was just curious about Shell V-Power. Is it as great as they say?

Why use Chevron? Do you recommend it, or do you just use it because of gas station location?

Chevron seems to be a west coast thing. Out here in the mid-west there aren't a lot of Chevrons and they seem like a lower end type gas station, like Citgo and Clark.

I only put Shell V-Power 93 octane in my car.

My engine cannot operate on anything less then 91. Even then it doesn't have a drivable power band because of the lack of octane.

I only use Shell 93 "v-power" myself. I've got a chipped M50 and there is no doubt in my mind that it makes a noticeable difference compared to the other premium gas available over here. Sunoco, Mobil, Exxon, etc. The engine just doesn't make full power on anything else.

Does your car have a chip? If not there is no need to be running premium.

There is no reason why your engine would need anything more then 91.

Any lead at all in your gasoline will clog the O2 sensor and the cat.
