I put the relays under there, but it just seemed like too much worthless work to set the diag. plug there too. had to make the afm wires a bit longer to go back to it, and actually cut the diag. plug bracket off the M3 bracket.

You can just cut the sheath and add/remove wire length to put stuff where ever you want it. Here's a picture of my S50 and relocated diagnostic port. I did all the wiring myself....and the main relays are under the wiring cover.

even though its not an M20, gives you an idea what it looks like. I used the bracket that was already there.

Just went through 70 pages in the member rides engine bay thread and around 40 pages in the 24v swap sub folder.

Couldn't really find anyone who has a m20 with the diagnostic connector relocated on the end of the m3 firewall harness cover next to the fuse box.
And the relays relocated to the inside of the m3 cover

I assume this is because on a late Model( possibly early ) the wiring harness for the diagnostic connector also includes the wiring for the crank position sensor and impulse sensor wire. Those 3 items are wrapped in a wire sheath And end up right underneath the intake manifold.

Same problem for the wiring loom going to the 3 relays in front of the shock tower. The afm wiring and the 3 relay wiring are both in the same loom.

I have my c 101 connector inside the cover.
Could I just cut the sheath around the wires and relocate the relays and diagnostic connector to the m3 cover and just retape the harness?

Stock e30 m3's and 318is's have it setup like this.

How I set mine up. (work in progress)

And Simon's beauty. This how his came stock
This is what I'm after but on an m20.

Working...
