The specs for the bolts are listed on RealOEM http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...69&hg=11&fg=10
parts 2 and 5. M8 bolts in lengths of 25mm and 30mm should be easy to find (and cheap, even in Class 10.9) at any hardware store.
Looking at the US-spec bolts, the Euro ones are longer. US bolts are M8x16mm.Comment

yeah i was just on realoem earlier checking the bolts, no worries, but it was a noob mistake for not grabbing those while i was there. The specs for the bolts are listed on RealOEM http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...69&hg=11&fg=10

i shifted the gear and i can pop it in reverse like my old 318is, it seem like the gear is stuck though, it can only go in reverse,1 and 2. come down and check it out, in stockton PNP.Comment

Depends on the production month. If it was made before 9/84 it will. ;)
Also how the hell are you managing to fail that hard on this thread?Comment

Don't waste your time, bro. The manual rack has slightly a slower ratio than the already sluggish e30 power rack (1/8 to 1/4 turn more lock to lock) so you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between a disabled PS rack and the manual one. I know this because i've had all the options (manual, PS, PS delete, and E36 rack)
No manual steering system turns easily while you are stopped especially if your wheels have created bonus scrub radius.
FWIW, 2002's have quicker steering than E30 stock and are manual but they are lighter cars. In a BMW, you either want PS or not , there are no magic racks.
Sell the manual rack to someone that is all excited about it's novelty and use the money to put an E36 rack in your car.Comment
