    I've done both as long as I've owned my car. I know people that never fill it up all the way and never run it low - they always end up with shit in their tank. you have a fuel filter you know.. change it once in a while!

      kind of OT and a dumb question, butttt. WHEN exactly does the fuel reserve light come on? I've only let the needle go barelllly past the R before I got fuel. The light has only come on one time so I'm not sure if it's working properly or not.

        I ended up buying a gas can of gas, putting it in the trunk and driving until the car ran out of gas. I recorded how many miles the car traveled between when the light came on and the car ran out of gas. Now if I could only find where I wrote that down...
