S14 swap is sweeter, keeps it old school.

Ive seen one with AWD E36 M3 engine and a turbo and it looked stock minus the wheels. Lots of body work to pull it off

To call Paul Cain's Twin Turbo, Alloy block, tranny-at-the-rear car a mere swap is a bit of an understatement. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/...opic/t,276391/

The standard M50/S50 is just too much weight in a 2002, it would handle akin to a snowplow unless done properly. There is a reason you don't see many around, and those that do exist are built by people who have quite a bit of experience (i.e. Paul Cain, and Terry Sather.)

OP- Why are you posting this here? It seems this would be better suited for bmw2002faq.com .

Personally if I had the means and I didn't want to go the triple weber approach there would be an s14 in the engine bay.

Well first you would need some serious rubber. With the amount of power VS weight ratio it would be over whelming :D

It was hard enough getting an m20 in there, never mind a DOHC lol.

I REALLY want to put an f20c with an SOS supercharger kit into my E21. Actually, I don't just want to, I will (in a year or two).

This is actually an M54 swap. It was featured in Roundel (don't remember what issue it was). Sick car nontheless.
