Any explanation on why they redesigned the nose?

wow based on what ive read on other sites, the fw26 is more of a improvement than the fw25 was to the fw24, and the Fw25 was one hell of a car. i'm also suprised to see bmw already has a replacement to the P83 engine

That front end design looks like the work of Chris Bangle.

We'll see how well it performs. The McLaren/Mercedes boys already have a two week head start on testing. Hopefully the BMWs engine has the top end punch from last season.

Well, maybe they don't. But aerodynamics do, and by the looks of that boxy bodywork, perhaps they will not win races.

i think its a great design:

but the radiator area does seem a bit boxy

im quite sure the engineers at BMW FI have their reasons for the change in body work.. looks like it would make more downforce compared to the pointed nose design...maybe they felt it needed better high speed handling?

Are you fucking kidding me? The design is revolutionary. They are certainly ahead of the game. There hasn't been that big of change to a car in years. The designers are not stupid -- they are not just fucking around.

correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt BMW in charge of EVERYTHING this year? Both the chassis and the engine will be BMW in the '04 season

But the car looks very odd. Im sure what they have done was an improvement [why would they have done it otherwise] Looks like a "Manta-ray"
