I haven't contacted them yet as its time for it to hibernate for the winter.

By doing all the things that I listed and then more. Isn't that pretty clear?

haha yes understood, i was thinking that they make it difficult by monitoring you so that you dont do those things or something. Like, maybe they check if you commute with that car.

Some of them retain the right to check. They'll look real hard at an accident that occurs in a commuting time, and they won't cover shit if it gets stolen from the office parking lot. But really, do you want to potentially commit insurance fraud just to save a few bucks?

There's age restrictions too, can't drive the car unless your 25 or older in most instances.

I'd be happy if I could get agreed value at a higher premium as long as I could use the car as I wish and not to worry about getting the value of a wheel or two, or flat denied should something happen.

Have Haggerty on our old truck. Good experience with service and they insured it for what its actually worth. They're worth giving a call.

So let me get this straight.....If I garage my vert, daily drive my honda, and only plan to use the vert in the summer that might not be covered under collectors/classic insurance?

I wanna drive to the beach, go out to eat, and enjoy the vert during the summer....not only use it to go to car shows and do things only related to the car....I guess Im kind of beat.

I need to give progressive a call and then call Haggerty and American Collectors

You are correct...with the exception of track days and autox (which I have to get separate coverage for) this is precisely what we use the Lotus for. My e30 is my daily and Haggerty had no issue with that. Both my other cars are covered by them.

OP, classic insurance policies have a lot of contingencies; age (you and car), mileage limits, useage intentions, where the car is stored, what other vehicles you have.. it would be better to just shop around for insurance. go for a high deductible (like $1000), low limits and no liability, just collision insurance. be smart about it and you'll find an agreeable number.

then don't r3v your car or drive like a fool.
