I hapily paid $3400 for my 86 es in 07 with 74k confirmed miles (Carfax showed 43k miles in '99). The es came with lsd, spoiler and the ever elusive 86-87 front valence and hard-to-find fogs.

I could not see any dents, but then again it was dark. the interior is immaculate. He has tons of records back from 2007 and years before. From 2007 till now the car has only seen a total of ~10,000 miles.

Car has an aftermarket deck (which I will probably replace because there is no ipod hookup)
Car alarm, I do not know what brand, but it looks decent. It is functional
    Cup holder on the door.
    Dinan Chip

Everything else is stock, wait, besides basket weaves, which I do not know if were stock, but I do not think so.

Anyways, Gave the guy $2000 for the car, he gave us all the papers so it is our car. He is getting it smogged tomorrow morning and having it sent over on a flatbed to my house.

One problem, the front right suspension suposedly makes a squeeking noise. When we took it for a test drive it did not make any noise, BUT it did feel stiff, and as if it was not really absorbing anyhitng, more of just rolling over it.

    Any ideas?

    Pics tomorrow.. Hopefully
    Grats!

Shock are often neglected. Also check the upper strut mount bearing and LCA ball joints. The e came on bottle caps.

Vac leak usually has a rolling idle. Make sure the throttle body stop screw wasn't messed with or throttle cable slack adjuster.

              Is it a manual?

Yes the car is a manual. And my dad is taking it to work today (he's a forklift mechanic) and is checking it out. He told me of wad a vacuum leak the second the car started and he noticed the idle. Well check that out.

Also, he said he think the front right strut is bad because going over bumps is rough.

And one more thing, there is a slight vibration when accelerating, I believe through all the gears. Dad said he thinks the u joint? Any other possible idea?

                Thanks.

I haven't even gotten to drive it yet /: my dad is hoggin it. but he is finding the bugs.

Its most likely the center support bearing.

Vibration through all gears means center support bearing and guibo. Might be just one of them, but often they go bad together.

So found out today the odometer is not working. the last "true" recorded miles was in 2007 which was at 224k. At this point there was lots of parts replaced including the timing belt. The odo stopped at 232k but I do not know when.

Going to have to do the timing belt.

So on the list as of now is

                                Timing belt

Going to tell my pops to tell me what to look for so we can get it ordered.

Where should I order parts from?
bavauto.com is all I know of.

                                Thanks
