So I guess i'm not the only one who's obsessed with separating contact between car and jack (i use wood and rubber)

          Mine does.
But my bigger one raises it just shy of 4 inches higher than the small one. Here's a picture of how high it got my E30. The one for $60 in the black friday ad only goes up to 14 3/4", whereas the bigger one goes up to 18 1/2". I can't stand a car that isn't high enough in the air. Especially when pulling transmissions, subframes. You know, those parts that if your car isn't high enough makes you want to shoot yourself doing some trick lifts with your crappy jack and a couple bricks/chunks of 2/4

Plenty of room to work. In this case it was my entire suspension refresh and drop.

Here's the ad for your consideration

I strongly looked at that one. But the 100lbs of weight, and as you can tell my VERY cracked garage slab, put me to the aluminum one. (Not seen in pictures is the 4 inch deep sinkhole under my spare tire well)

I blame getting a decent jack on my and my friends cars obsession. Nothing makes it easier to do what you want to than a decent jack.

We really should make all new members provide a pic of their jack to join this forum. It truly changes attitude towards car work.

I have something like this, its over kill but It makes easy work of putting my e30 in the air. With my car slammed with like 3" between the rockers and the grounds Ive come to accept the fact that I have to drive up onto bricks to get ANY jack under my car anyways so its not a big deal. I also can get my car up higher then those shitty small craftsmen/pepboys jacks. I will also point out it helps to have multiple jacks when doing stuff like putting motors in so you can get a jack under the tranny.
