A 318 'vert is likely to have an open diff. You really want the LSD if you can get it. Other than that, it's as the other guys have said. Basically, one is a soft-top and the other is a coupe. Two different markets, really.

Man, leting that limit you is stupid. You can find a 4.10 lsd easily for 300.00 shipped to your door. You don't even know if the car in question has an lsd. Probably doesn't, but find out. If the cab is a manual, it will likely have 4.29 open.

Worry about changing something important that you would need to change on any m42 car like leather seats, cruise control, or a 13 button obc.

There is a lot wrong with this short, short statement.

....unless sarcasm is intended...in which case, disregard my statement.

if you like to drive very slow get the 318 vert. otherwise like all the rest of us vert owners know. get the 325i vert.
all e30s are loud. there is weird rattles and they leak in the rain. a removable hard top is a great addition in rainy or cold weather.

                  basically 318IC<318IS<325IC<325IS
                  Much wow
                  I hate 4 doors

                      they're slow and they're heavy.

you'll get laughed at by m10 owners.

would love to buy a vert for my wife ;)

if that vert that your looking at is in good condition, and less than $2200, manual, then buy it, and you will spend 250 to put LSD, and sell your old one for $50-$80.
318ic is good on gas mileage... maybe your vacation car during summer.. or daily.. or perfect for S50 swap =]

                          The 318ic's are all 5-speeds.

                            verts have bigger doors
                            Smaller trunk
Extra 50 lb weight in the right rear corner of the trunk
Reinforced shock tower to body with a plate
Rear view mirror mounted directly to the windshield.
and something is different with the rear bumper allowing a plastic bumper conversion to be more straight forward.(not 100% sure on this)
