I hate them for the same reason I hate Priuses. I don't hate the car, I hate the douchebags driving them.
    Different strokes for different folks.

Couldn't do it. Even when hydrolocked twice. And drained of oil for a month by accident. Still ran.

The car was eventually killed by the rear wheels falling off and the person at the time not caring to fix it. So we tore up and down the corn fields in it dragging the ass in drunken stupors for two years before we hit the infamous tree of death that 7 other cars have met their demise against.
Haha sounds like mine, just taken a bit more extreme. Drove mine through mud, puddles, snow, car didn't give a shit it just went. Pissed a buddy of mine off because he got stuck in a Cherokee and I just went around him.

Mine was ugly. Shitty rattle can flat black paint job, stripped out interior behind the front seats, loud as hell exhaust most of the time I owned it. For a couple months it was pretty much just dumping right after the exhaust manifold. Wheels rattle canned orange. Leaked oil, and I didn't bother to check it much, so it was low fairly often.

I honestly never even referred to it as a Subaru, because there are a lot of douschey WRX owners up here. It was just "the Justy." I will be willing to bet I never drive a car as good as that was in the snow again. Unfortunately rust was a huge issue on it, and I got rid of it once my E30 was running for fear of the rust starting to cause issues.

        Woahhh k then....

Theyre pretty cool to me, and the drivetrains are awesome. But they have a cheap"hollow plastic" feel to them.. if that makes any sense.
Theres no doubt that if i owned one the interior would come out immediatley, yes theyre that bad.

They aren't very handsome cars, but they're fantastic. Still, I'd prefer a BMW.

Someone made a thread about a "rally'd out, award winning, show car" That was awesome because he won awards with it, people gave him shit and he cried. Good times.

Agreed with the driver mentality. I dislike DSMs and Supras for the same reasons, the owners. Just because somebody on the internet made a million horsepower with a 5 dollar turbocharger doesn't mean you are cool.

I'll agree with this sentiment. I like our subaru, but I have no illusions that it's exciting or beautiful to look at. I don't get the love for their motors though - I guess the STI is cool, and everyone likes turbos, but the rest of their motors are pretty much the same thing they were building 20 years ago. I mean it runs decently, and makes pretty good torque for a 4 cylinder, but that's about it. it's painful to rev them past 5k..

I've had 2 STis and loved almost ever minute of owning them. When I sell my current one in a few months it will be a sad day.

Subaru owners used to be some pretty cool and smart folks back in the day. Then Travis Pastrana and Ken Block started to rally them and the flatbilled bro-dogs started to invade the Subaru world. :(

The biggest problem I see with a WRX as a family car or an appliance car (aka boring tank of a daily driver) over something like a Camry is that the WRX gets pretty crappy gas mileage. Most WRX folks I know seem to average 23-25mpg and with the turbo you have to use premium. I guess that's better than most SUVs but you're giving up a lot of cargo space that an SUV has.

I almost bought an 07 WRX TR, then I drove a BMW. 'Nuff said.

Hate the cheesie cheap interiors and the fact the head gaskets fail but they are not bad, recycled steel so they are gonna rust in 6-9 years like most cars that come from the Orient.

                              Utilitarian car with ok features.

I love the way they look, The STI versions at least. I also love the way they sound, that boxer rumble is fantastic imo.
