Ive recd payment for parts from that email in recent months. I can look if its important

Ive sent invoice 2 weeks ago for some parts to that email address. It hasnt been paid yet but i sent the parts to Josh to help out until payday came around. It shows in my paypal as a valid address and Josh agreed to pay it as soon as he can. So I believe that paypal account is still valid

    edit here

This is one of the more entertaining things that has happened here for a while. I'm curious to know if the right amount of opposite lock was applied to this account and if the tire pressure was more than 1.5 psi off.

Sucks for Yan, and raises the bar for controls/transparency the next time the community wants to do something nice like this.

That said, please let me know who the next goof is we can send money to for this kind of entertainment years down the road.

Yan isn't the type to ask for money, I agree - I'd be surprised if Yan knew anything.

He's like the master of zen among zen masters, his views and selflessness isn't something you see especially the class act he was when he posted the story. He didn't even have any malice or revenge towards Vlad. The only reason he posted the revelation of what Vlad did to "paint" his car was to give an honest review and urge people to have a second thought.

I was just on Paypal and history dates back (for me anyway) to 2001.
I donated $40USD to the YAN fund when this transpired.

Nothing short of the ordinary, but an unnamed ex mod got some fancy new wheels and toys throughout that time.

pretty hypocritical that Josh is fairly vocal and critical online when there is something that goes awry...yet again keeps this little hidden gem of a secret from the contributing members...

    shame on you.

I suspect the person that started this 3 year old thread was also aware of what happened. Regardless, I am sure Josh told someone else and Yan must have commented on the funds. Why would Yan censor what happen if someone asked him? This is why I said it was kept a secret.

It's not worth discussing or debating at this point since its all speculation and rather disgraceful but again one or the other should have said something since it wasn't truly their money to begin with. It just seems the right thing to do with the donors.
Apparently, yes, neither of them said anything.

Josh is the original poster of this thread. Nobody other than Josh knew what happened to the money as far as any of us know. I doubt even Yan knew, except that he never saw any of it.

It sucks if this involve foul play or fraud. Those who donated deserve the right to know exactly what had happen to the money donated. At the extreme, this may become a legal matter. Internet fraud is a federal crime I believe. Any hows, its better to see this get resolve sooner than later.

    Absolutely incredible.

The amount has not yet been transferred to Yan, but even after it does, I will continue to accept donations for as long as people want to keep donating.
