Yeah i dont want the ls1 because that to me just kills the car. I cant put an american motor in a german car, thats gay. I know the capabilities of the ls1, and i know its light but if my car was an rx7 or something like that i would. It just seems to dicrace the car to put anythingin it other than its manufacturers motors.


I found a turbo kit from this company and its only 3k, ive turboed many cars and i could put a kit together myself but i know a couple of people that orderd from here and theve had no problems...

i understand the point you're trying to make, but you're using a grossly overrated figure. with the advent of TT/BL kits, active actually faced competition, and dropped a lot of the their prices. most kits are around 7k, which is still out of range. but stop living in 2001.

$2k strokers make dismal numbers. And he already has suspension if you didn't notice. Driving schools = best advice.

How do you think you could have a (reliable) boosted M50 out the door for $5? Active Autowerke's stage 1 turbo is almost $11,000 itself.

TJ, not everything has to be a "kit"

You can buy the parts needed [yes new parts] and put the kit together yourself. My turbo parts cost me $2000 at most, probably not much over $1500. I know I don't have an M50 but one can be had for $1500 in good shape and I think $3500 towards a turbo kit is very realistic. Again, not everything is a "stage" or a "kit"

I suppose so, but not all of us would want a high mileage stock M50 running boost through a junkyard turbo kit.

gotta walk before you can crawl. If you do all your own labor, you can do a 2.5 M50 for $5k.

If I had $5K to put into my car, again, I'd fix everything, springs/shocks/bushings/CAs, Azenis, ditch the cat and head to the track.
