FPRs are known to burst into flames.

Explain to me how oil on my exhaust is going to catch fire. My rear main leaks, pretty badly. Hits my exhaust, and i can smell it burning off . This is capable of causing a fire?

If I am going to get one, it will be in my cabin. I want to be able to get to it as quick as possible.

I witnessed this happen just last week, guy was topping off and spilled whole bunch on the exhaust manifold and left the car idling, he came back out of the store to find smoke bellowing out from under the hood.

That is pretty ricey. If you wanna be a real baller just have a fire suppression system that can be turned on via a switch in the cockpit.

Always have carried these. Ironically every one has been used on strangers cars. One time sitting in a restaurant for a meal with family I ran to the car to get my fire buddy, then bolted across the street to put a raging engine fire to rest. The driver was mad that i sprayed yukky powder on her car. Next time ill ask permission. lol

^ I like that under the seat.... I really don't want it to be exposed.

Not for fear of being labeled a ricer, but for the fact that I don't want my E30 to resemble a piece of construction equipment. ;)

In Brazil and many other countries, it's a requirement to have a fire extinguisher in the car. In most cases it's under the driver's knees. That's where I plan to mount mine, but it's also important to have the correct type (Halon) if you want to ever have your car clean again. Although, something is better than nothing. I'm currently riding around without any type of fire suppression besides my t-shirt, but you'd better believe that I had a fire extinguisher when I started up my car on megasquirt for the first time, and whenever troubleshooting start and fuel issues.

That said, would you rather have the car and a fire extinguisher mess, or the insurance money? lol
