You talking about the one on the check panel? Go to your local Junkyard, plenty of early cars had non airbag check panels, that don't have the light at all.

^ Correct, a non-airbag check panel will plug and play.

Pop the check panel out, take it apart, and break the light in there for the Airbag light. the complete panel is just clipped in. The rest is too easy.

My SRS light was flashing up a storm a while ago. I took it out and am replacing it with an android phone powered from the 12v plug for my Google Maps'ing needs.

Slightly different from a true fix, but slightly more useful than stock.

The SRS light does not illuminate the "CHECK" light. Open it, remove or break BOTH bulbs (there are two) and be done with it.

Why not just unplug the SRS module which is near the steering column? I actually ripped mine out, along with the wiring and crash sensors, and switched my check panel to a non-SRS one

All you need to do is unplug the orange connector on the srs box.

tagged for laters. Thanks to everyone for the input.

My orange relay on the passenger fenderwell apparently
got so hot some black goo ran out of it. Not sure what
is up there, but hopefully I can get it home without detonating
                          the airbag into my face.
