Sourcing parts to make the power windows manual?
So you want to take 5 hours out of your day and swap it to crank to save 1lb and and require you to do work to open the windows, when you could've spent 20 minutes of your day to swap out all the motors?

          Yep. Your new.....

Either way, car is fun as hell to drive. I'm torn between using this as a DD, or selling the turbo off my G35 and using that as my DD, which would help fund an engine swap on this car.
Leave the turbo on the G35 and swap+turbo the E30.

Having two cars means never having to have a reliable DD.

                Look at it this way:

Lots of people wish they could disable the odometer on their vehicles to stop the mileage from accumulating.

We can just press a button!

Every car is a money pit. A 20+ year old car most likely requires all of the areas of maintenance to throw your money into. In the end I bet you will have a smile. Because there is a bottom to the pit. I have been there before and its not too bad; actually, it's worth it.

I started out just like you with '87e...thirteen years ago! It's the most fun you'll spend your money on...and leave the power windows alone :)

gonna post some pictures later today. Sadly i've been stuck at work since 7am yesterday :(

as for the windows...guess i'll leave them alone. i wasn't worried about weight savings but more about the condition of new motors for the windows. didn't realize it would be that labor intesive.

FINALLY got around to adding new photos. She's a bucket, but will need work. Even with no power, manual sunroof, crappy radio reception at best, and 3 power windows in need of repair, I was still smiling the whole drive.

And had to add the requisite photo of all my cars together: 325E, Nissan Titan, G35 sedan

                              3 bad window motors?
I would think that's more electrical than the motors themselves. Unless they never replaced them and let them die out, I would think it's an electrical issue.

                              Testing them is easy enough.

And don't let my previous post discern you.
Wilkommen! E30's are fantastic cars. Once you're bitten, they never quite go away.
