How many times have we heard that, or said it ourselves for that matter? The operative word here is "few" and it's amazing just how flexible that little word can be.

Congrats on your nice e30 there and welcome to r3v.

No, I bought it when I was 18 in 2003.

Welcome! You should fit in just fine around here. Your cars so far have been nice, can't wait to see the E30 all "finished" up.

              Thanks for the Welcome guys.
As I said earlier, part of my rationale for moving to the E30 is Simplicity but another part is to try to recreate the fun I enjoyed with one of my favorite BMWs ... my 1981 323i. Not quick by modern standards but it was balanced, agile, and ... just fun. I brought it in from Switzerland back in the gray market days with a Hartge head/cam, added a/c, Bilsteins, etc and even an Alpina aux fuel tank. Great car!

That was my 1970 914-6; bought it in '79, kept it until '89. More or less stock though I did build a very sweet 2.5 with "S" cams. Great autocross car ... won my share of FTDs back then in Charleston SC. When I sold it it looked like this ...

                      Thanks Mr. B!
As long as I'm poking around in the Old Pics folder I guess I might as well include another.
I dreamed of having a 911 for many years. Finally picked up a used one in '81; a '73 S. Finished a resto in '89. Eventually sold it to the original owner - Brumos Porsche in JAX. It was one of Peter Gregg's personal cars and is now in Brumos' private museum.

Both of those Porsches are awesome! A 914-6 is one the dream car list for me. The '73 S would probably be worth a pretty penny today.

So how much are you itching to get the 5 speed swap done on your E30? The automatic must be killing you.

Thanks Dirty30, but I'm not driving the E30 yet ... a friend is starting work on the 5-speed swap this week. It should be ready to drive, with 5-speed, new suspension, and Euroweaves, later this month. In the meantime I'll be preparing the ZHP to sell.
The 914-6 was alot of fun to drive ... especially to autocross. Did you catch the license plate in the first photo ?
