I will send you pictures 10-20 years from now when both my 318is and 280z are not only both still running, but are better then new in every single way. (not to mention I will be still be driving two of the cars I could only dream of driving growing up) That's just me though, if I can save the 10-20 grand that a lot of people waste on a new car every 3-7 years and instead use it to travel, make a good life for my child in this crazy world and build the house of my dreams, I'll do it.
Also note, nothing beats the feeling of smoking some teenage girl with a rich daddy driving her brand new 2011 autotragic camaro, in my 4 cylinder m42 318is.
Also 80's produced some pretty sweet cars, 280ZX was still good looking.
New cars are so Ugly

imo...
I do not have the coin to have a GTR on my driveway so an e30 will do. I too like the retro Challenger and the Camaro but would no spend my monies on one. There are plenty of new cars including the Hyundai Genesis coupe that look and go nice and at a decent price point.
Another part of this is the safety. I just test drove a new RX350 and really liked it for the family. It had plenty of bells and whistles to make the family happy. The only thing I dont like about it is that it doesnt move me. The soul of a well built classic car moves me personally but im sure I wouldnt kick a new M3 out of the garage.Leave a comment:

Lot of 80's cars looked like shit as well... Topaz, corssica, taurus, civic, corolla etc etc.... I think cars are actually looking better as of late. espc in the economy class.
Some statements in this thread are retarded,,, Ill never own a post 95 car,,,, really. Good luck 10-20yrs from now keeping that on the road...
Also, the new f30 is 300-400 lbs lighter then the e90 if I am correct.
Anyway, design is def subjective but I thougt bangles designs were actually pretty good, a lot of other manufacturers thought so as wel,l as they copied them,,, the trunks espc the 7,5er were directly influnced by the e30m3 trunk.
my rant, I am oldish. As there is no way I would drive a cj7 with only lap belts again. Saftey, or the illusion of, can be nice.Leave a comment:

once apon a time older cars were huge too. I had a 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 over here in Germany- it had a track of 215mm- no German car trailer is wider that 195mm for a car! Best thing is- it was a midsize car. the Olds 98 was even larger!
I do agree, i LOVE old cars, but not all are pretty either!
I'll just leave this here.

That new E55 AMG is pretty friggin boss. I'd chose any of the newer benz over a new BMW any day. sept' for the slk class.... 1M baby!Leave a comment:

I feel sorry for anyone who limits themselves strictly to 16+ year old BMW's, missing out on a lot of amazing engineering and fun.Leave a comment:

I think the ugleist of all are the Hyundais.
E30 and E34 era may have been peak BMW. Love the styling and plenty of options. Also I don't wanna drive around in a giant computer. I know when to change my oil I dont need a computer doomsday count down to tell me.Leave a comment:
