Those aren't my headers, but no they aren't bad headers either way.

What are people using to clean and prep the block? Mine's got a heavy dose of oil and grime buildup, but I'm not going to dig into the bottom end at all so I'll likely spray it assembled on the stand (assembled shortblock, no intake/exhaust or accessories)

Hot tank, or you can use simplegreen, engine grime cleaner, purple power.

              This is what I'm screaming.

I love dark colors for appearance, but the practicality of a light colored block is just too great for me. I don't think I could do white for the looks, but I could definitely do a *very* light silver.

I take that back. I'd probably just do white, looks be damned. It's just too practical.

                The white is legit!

I was planning on painting mine white... then I found a blue that really caught my eye. I'll post pictures when it's painted. It's a flat light blue, should be light enough to show leaks.

Don't paint the freeze plugs. Looks way better IMHO to have some contrast when your looking at it.

Wasn't planning on it! Some are a little dirty/off color so I might end up spraying with some gold so they all match. I am OCD like that...

Black can be bad because it is harder to spot an oil leak if you get one. I'm a fan of silver personally, though the green color a lot of British engines are painted is nice too:

I really kind of like the Met blue that Pontiac and AMC had. And that green on that British engine posted above dont look too bad either.
