I agree with others that Perez should get a seat with Ferrari, he has demonstrated great driving talent so far this year. He's part of Ferrari's "driver academy" (or whatever the official name is) so he's definitely in their sights.
There's a story on James Allen's website about Hamilton going to Mercedes next year.....I guess there was quite a bit of behind the scenes dealings at Monza. If this turns out to be true, Martin Whitmarsh has gone on record saying they don't have a Plan B (i.e. a clue about who will replace Lewis) if he goes.
The silly season continues to evolve.Rides...

^ No kidding, I was actually enjoying it until turn 18 got Karthikeyan'd. How about Mike?! Peter Bonnington gets the nod for best driver radio message, "what 'appened there?!" I know Steve Matchett and Hobbs were commenting on how similar some corners look to others, I can only assume MS thought he could carry more speed through there. People were up in arms at his "light penalty" for Suzuka, but Vergne handled it like a pro.
Not a Hamilton fan in any sense, but that gearbox issue was bad fucking luck. Some are speculating that it may have resulted from his kiss with the wall in quali 3.- Trey

Great race. The Lewis gearbox failure definitely played into Vettel's an Alonso's favor - he was running a solid race otherwise.
With several races to go, it's still a toss up about the driver's championship. I'm speculating it could go to either Alonso, Vettel or Hamilton. I know Kimi is currently third in points (he has scored in every race so far), but 8 of those finishes resulted in single-digit points earned. He will need to be consistently in the top 3 or 4 to be a contender.

^Interesting, wonder who potentially two new drivers at RBR would be? I see next year being Webber's last unless he has a great campaign.
Maybe JEV?
I thought we were going to see Paul Di Resta end up at McLaren, that would have been cool.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

Yeah, I thought Di Resta would move to Mecca also. Perez is a future champion, he is very fast and has proven to be calm under pressure.
I think Massa will have one more year at Ferrari to keep the seat for Vettel.

Excellent
I think that would be a great idea and it would be fascinating to see how Schumacher and Alonso would get along. They didn't really like each other when Fred had his back to back championships with Renault and out Psyched Schumi. NOW I think they'd get along great. Maybe Ferrari could bring Barrichello back??

Even if it was only a one year deal, which it surely would be.

I think, altenator-issues aside, Vettel's got a great situation with Horner and RBR. Unless Renault is unable to get their shit together with the alternator problem, I hope he'll stay for a while.- Trey
