Cool piece, meant for Autobahn driving for if you run out of fuel on it you WILL be cited if the Polezi see you walking with a Jerry can.

This is why the factory had factory extended range tanks so you could drive from say Bremenhaven to Frankfurt Nord top off and continue to Munich.

Hauling around at old autobahn speeds you would chew through fuel in no time. Miss those days!

Cool piece... I think there were two different sizes. An 8L and a 9L. Requires a 15" spare wheel for it to fit though. I don't think they're available any more though.

Definately cool, but not as cool as this: E30 M3 Aux fuel tank. Sits between the rear shock towers in the trunk:

Perfect for a long overnight drive, or a long track day:)

i know where one of those aux tanks is... and it's for sale. came out of a euro 323i. it doesnt take a lot of trunk space either.

and ix 15" wheels are the same circumference as 14" weaves. fyi.

Wait, they fit WITH the wheel? As in you can have both the spare wheel AND the gas can?

I always wanted one of these. It's one of those reasons you always pop the trunk in the junkyard, even though you know it will never be there.

that fuel cell is uber cool but for me, i would rather have the aluminum alpina aux trunk fuel tank if i were to go to the trouble. it holds a few more gallons of fuel. in the end, i think a lukebox is going in that position.

as far as the wheel diameters are concerned, this gas can actually fits inside the spare in the trunk, not taking the place of it. it is the inside diameter of the rim that is perhaps critical for fitment.

Yes but when you need it it could be another 40 miles.

another 40 miles to walk...? it's to fetch gas and to bring back to the car, not to keep 2 year old gas in your trunk on 100 degree days.

I've got one as well: NOS in the original box. It's designed very well, fits tightly into the spare tire. I never used it as a gas can, so it's as new. Available.
