I am thinking about doing VW Corrado G60 rotors (same bolt pattern, but 11" rotors) and then getting bigger calipers with a custom caliper bracket. If many people would be interested in buying the caliper brackets I would be willing to make extra and sell them.

thats a good idea, upgrades using OEM stuff, even if its not BMW OEM, are always neat.

How big is the corrado caliper? What size wheels fit over the that rotor/caliper combo?

this is a great idea.... you could even use the 13" IE replacement rotors and get porsche calipers (instead of the floating calipers IE uses) and get some brackets made... hummm.... this gets me thinkin

The main thing I would want the Corrado calipers also is to make sure I have enough sweep area, or maybe try to use the mk4 GTI calipers as they are probably stronger. I wouldn't want to go much bigger because then you have to have 16's atleast and you are adding quite a bit more unsprung weight.

Rob - You have to have a minimum of 15" wheels.

What the biggest rotor possible with this setup? I'm a ricer who wants 18's, and I am trying to see what kind of brake rotors fill up the dead space behind the monstrous rims :P

I think the Corrado rotors matched with bigger calipers is a great idea. Can't wait to see what comes of it.

As if 18's aren't enough... huge brakes purely for looks

Do you plan on repainting your car?

I'm talking with the roomate about a porsche based upgrade. 9944 Turbo calipers are pretty nice, and relatively cheap and plentiful. The stock 951 used a 11.8" rotor, so you'd probably need 16"s to clear a kit based on that cars brakes.

I know they wont bolt up. Custom brackets would be mandatory, and probably custom sized rotors as well
