Fathers day weekend 1999. I had always liked the e30 and e36 and then my dad bought a z3. My mom said it was his fathers day gift. One hell of a step up from a 95 intrepid. After driving it and experiencing what BMW was about u knew I would own one someday. When it was time to sell my Dakota I figured I'd give the e30 a shot. Drove one and ended up buying it. All records included, yay! After a year of ownership and a few repairs later its a love/hate relationship but I still really enjoy diving it

It all started in 2008, my brother bought an incredible looking 325es. I loved it as soon as we drove it, i owned a nissan s13 at that time, still do actually, but it was life changing i could say.He used it to go to high school, after he graduated he bought a jeep wrangler with a skyjacker suspesion and a whole lot of oher goodies and well the e30 was just pushed aside. I bought it from him to the amount of 1500 dollars. Just like my s13, I emphasize this, I WILL NEVER LET IT GO. It has truly been an adventure so far with my e30..

            Converted

I Hated BMW's in the 80's when I lived in cali.A few years back a friend invited me out to a BMWCCA HPDS at Pacific Raceways and gave me a ride in his supercharged E36 M3.I havent missed a club HPDS since then.

In '09 I was given a couple of rides in PRO3 cars and after the last ride I got out and told my wife "whew that was fun! I gotta get one of those!" she just rolled her eyes at me,but shortly after that I wrecked our Shelby and the search was on for a replacement.I found my 90 is with a bunch of good parts and bad workmanship 2 years ago and I'm slowly upgrading it and tracking it every chance I get.

I had never even driven an e30 when I bought the rat.Now we have 3 E30's, the trackrat 90 is,my wifes 85 auto coupe and a 87 sedan that I picked up for 350 bucks a few months ago for parts but started driving it instead.

I even named one of my dogs "Enzo" after the dog in the book "The Art of Racing in the Rain"
            1990 325is "the rat"/ E30 Warsteiner tribute racecar/1985 325e "faded Glory"/ 1968 Chevy II Nova "the baby"/ 2001 525i 5spd purchased May 2013 with 16k miles. Plus other junk that annoys the neighbors.

I wanted an M3 the first time I saw one, perhaps '87 or so. At the time I really couldn't care less about cars as I was into airplanes, and there weren't any cool cars in the town I lived in aside from a '56 Porsche 356A Speedster than my friends dad owned. We went to visit family here in the Bay Area and I saw my first M3. The box flared fenders and the rear spoiler did it for me. Oddly enough I think it might have been the same trip that I saw my Alfa Romeo GTV for the first time sitting in a friends barn. Little did I know the car would be mine 20 years later, and that car would pave the way to my getting an M3. Oddly enough, I just can't seem to form an emotional connection to it.

I was a VW guy before I liked BMW's. I owned a mkiv gti through the last half of high school, I ended up selling it because the loan was too much for a kid my age (~$10k loan at the age of 17-18). Few months later, I was reading a thread on the vwvortex and someone posted an e30, and I knew I had to have one.
I guess you could say vwvortex brought me to r3v/e30s.
