    NEW E30, no really.

I was wondering if its possible to order a new e30 just in parts then assemble a zero mileage e30, lets say an 89is

is this possible? obviously it would be cost prohibitive, but still.....

Yeah just ask blunt to piece together all of the part numbers, he'll take care of you.

Just the engine alone will cost you:

            01 Rmfd short engine 256K1 1 11001730856 $5,323.52

The intake manifold another $800. The transmission is NLA.

I'd love to see someone rebuild an e30 from the ground up using all new/latest electronics/parts, still keeping it stock but like with a 2011 built air con and stuff. Similar to the cars on Top Gear (jag and an Austin I think) that were rebuild but with new current tech.

You can do it with an MGB. There is a company re-producing complete body shells from original tooling. You can buy a complete unibody for $3000 plus shipping.

Someone should do this for e30's.

Oh wait, e30 owners are cheap asses...

What about the BMW classic restoration program? I'm pretty sure it will be of similar cost.

BMW Classic built an '02tii from nearly all new parts a few years ago, and more recently an e9 coupe. So for a pile of cash I'm sure they'd do an e30. In fact, they have a Baur e30 vert on their homepage right now.

Why build an e30 when you can build a DeLorean, doc?

DeLorean is a legacy mobility company focused on redefining human connections through creative technologies.

"Texas entrepreneur Stephen Wynne started a separate company in 1995 using the "DeLorean Motor Company" name and shortly thereafter acquired the trademark on the stylized "DMC" logo as well as the remaining parts inventory of the original DeLorean Motor Company. The company, at its suburban Humble, Texas location, completes newly assembled cars from new original stock (NOS) parts, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and reproduction parts on a "made to order" basis using existing Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) plates."

Too much money. Just find a rust free roller and go from there.
