Some of the kids are idiots but others are actually normal.. Best thing is showing a kid a feature on his car that they had no idea about, or better yet being handed the keys and given free reign to do damn near anything you want ;)
Asian College Kids With Expensive New Cars

i think there are a couple of different issues here, both cultural and capital.
as a Korean-American, I've kind of struggled between cultures; my parents would do one one thing and general society showed me another. this is one of them. most Asian parents do everything they can for their kids, to ensure success in life. And it's something that extends beyond age 18.
That isn't to say that other cultures don't do everything they can; it's just a matter of perspective. Asian parents try to set up their kids with material goods to ensure that they don't have anything to worry about and interfere with their studies. American culture goes more along the lines of, "we gave you a knife; go get dinner". Having experienced both by primary and secondary means, I can conclude that both-as standalone methods-are incomplete.
The second issue is capital.
I don't think anyone would disagree that spoiled kids abound in any culture. What is disposable income to someone else may be a year's salary for me. That there are a higher percentage of Asians in your area with nice cars may be because the Asians that can afford to make it out there have the capital to buy nice cars.
Anyway...I just thought I'd throw in my two cents. Neither of my cents are really definitive opinions (nor are they well worded), but more observations that I wanted to share.1985 325e

The parking lots at school (college level) are packed with very nice cars. I have found schools in the poorer parts tend to have a higher percentage of asian kids with nice cars then that of the better off areas. Probably because the cost of living allowing the forigen kids to use the money they save on rent for other things.
The only thing that bothers me is when they haul ass through the lot almost hitting everything in their way.Originally posted by SonnyI am a meme for our community.Comment

Good points here about not just asian kids but just about all children of immigrant parents from impoverished countries. Their immigrant parents came over, took advantage of the opportunities we have in this country and worked very hard to achieve the american dream and then some. Their americanized children are of a different breed though. They don't really know about struggle and have a sense of entitlement. I know this to be the case with middle eastern and jewish kids as well. Success is a must and they'll do anything to pave the way for their kids. Of course there are always exceptions to the rule. My mom is old school asian but she never gave me shit. She loaned me 5K in high school for my first car and I made payments and I was an only child. So to all you parents out there, teach your kids the value of a dollar so they have the tools necessary to survive and manage their finances. They'll never learn if you do everything for them."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

Bunch of Asian students were in hot water last year around Vancouver for street racing. Cops seized Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Mercedes, GTR's etc. All of the kids were between the ages of 16 and 22.

It's fine with me if they come here and spend their money.
However it was sad to see the kid with a brand new Porsche Cayenne fail out tho. And what's up with all the young drivers with GT-R's? I haven't seen a single driver over the age of 30, and I've seen quite a few of them in SF.Drive it hard. Maintain it well.

Honestly, if your parents asked what car do you want we will get it for you. Would you and can you tell your parents no? And I do not believe you one bit if you were to say no over the internet. You don't know until you are in that position.
I think the real argument here is against the attitudes of the young people instead of these young kids actually having nice cars.Comment
