Looks like that's at Tulley in Nashua - is it an employee that's selling it?

I work at HC BMW in Boston, I have a few techs that work here that used to work at Tulley - I'll bet they know the story on the car!

His Name is Al and yes he is a tech at Tulley, he is selling it privately. His story is that he got it over a year ago. He has been driving it daily 50 miles per day.

If you have the story on the car that would be most excellent.

Lifters? Not on an m20. Don't misinform the kid before he even get's an e30.

So is this something I need to be concerned about. The car idled beautifully and just sang through the rpms.

nothing that needs to be worried, about. M20 engine is overhead cam and does not have lifters valves are adjusted with an eccentric on the rocker arm. valve adjusments are needed every 25K or so
I saved 15% on my Bimmer parts by switching to ...

He may be a tech and all but if he doesn't have documented proof of when the timing belt was changed that should be the first thing you do...as in within a few days/weeks tops.

(call around before you meet up today and get some quotes and use that during negotiations: price, you buy parts/he covers labor, etc.)
Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!

One of my techs worked with him for years. He's a CPO tech. I'd get receipts documenting the timing belt, head gasket, etc - just to be sure. Good kid, talks a lot (says my tech) lol

Edit: He is a VW kid to the core (not sure why he's working for BMW, whatev), so this car doesn't "do it" for him. I don't think he's had it for a year, though he did have it on the road (see the pic with the NH plate.)
