damn... my car 87' 325is, no trunk mat/sound deadening, no rear cabin sound deadening otherwise full interior, full tank... 2,720lbs... seems a bit heavy compared to everyone elses, i wonder if it is my aluminum bumpers?
alloy bumpers weigh less then plastics.... unless your joking ;]
I think M3's are 2600lbs also, just an added note

what?!?! i have never actually rmoved and weighed them but i was told by many people not only here but also on dtmpower that the us spec diving boards are heavier than the plastic bumpers and you could acheive roughly a 40lb weight savings by doing the swap... am i wrong? if so i've been wrong for a long time lol... i know that euro aluminums are much lighter as i plan on installing those about mid december... lol i wasnt joking...
"Having won more road races than any other model in history, the E30 M3 is considered by many to be the world's most successful road race car." - Simply put, E30s kick ass.

Plastic bumpers with rebar and shocks are heavy, I really doubt there is 40lbs to be saved from the bumper swap.
My 1990 325i with 1/4 tank of gas, throwing star rims, and no passenger seat weighed at 2780.
No way. They are about the same as a 325is. Engine is lighter, and there's no tar in the trunk, but the brakes and the body are a little heavier... maybe just a pinch less than a 325 then.
My 318is: (w/o driver)
-M42, no carpet/panels, one SRD, full tank, no spare/jack was 2460.
-M42, heavier 3.73, full interior, full tank, spare and tools, 2580.
-S50, heavier trans, 3.73, full interior, no A/C, alum. flywheel, spare/tools, 3/4 tank, 2620.
edit: car has sunroof, 16lb wheels
Good numbers.
My car weighed around the same as yours with my m20; 2587 without me in it.

That's a good point about the M3 brakes adding to the weight of the car. The cast iron from the calipers and rotors adds up on all 4 corners.
For another data point: My 318iS weighed in at 2612lbs (w/ M42)
w/ 4 pt roll bar +60lbs
w/ Sparco shell ~-30lbs
w/ motorcycle battery -25lbs
w/ E30 M3 5 lug & M3 medium case diff
w/ 14lb M20 flywheel
w/ 16x7.5 cast weaves
3/4 tank of gas
full interior & sound deadening
w/o spare tire
Crossweights were almost dead 50/50
Front to Rear was 52F 48R
