Idk man I love my e30 to death as of everyone else on here but a 20 something year old car is a ticking time bomb I wouldn't want my wife and child suck on the side of the road because some weird ass part none of us have every heard of goes and thanks to our cars being German we can't figure it out right away. You being on the side of the road scanning r3v to figure out how to get your car on the road is normal your wife and baby not good.

I'd keep the volvo. You have a 2 year old kid, don't compromise safety for a cooler car.
BUT with that said, in most cars in most accidents, the size of the car is more important generally. If you take an e30 an e46 and an e92 and put them through identical crashes, I think that the damage to any individual inside would overall be similar. If you take an e46 and an e66 then it's a bigger difference. e30's are pretty tiny, why not go for another bimmer that she may like (e34/38/39)?Last edited by Vivek; 02-17-2012, 12:49 PM.The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Whatever you decide, you NEED to hang on to that woman.
all the kiddies moaning about safety? really? we didn't even have child seats when I was a kid. and the e30 was a fantastically safe car in it's day, maintained, it is no less safe today...
being a good defensive driver is the best safety system known to mankind. better than 10 air bags imho.

Watch a LeMans car hit a barrier at 100+mph. That "explosion" of parts is designed as such.Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.
