Twice. Once doing the very same thing.
I have to do it again though. I picked up a couple sport seats from Nsquared (Thanks again!), but I wasn't attentive when I put them in the back seat. All along the 4 hour drive home, the seat rail dug into my seat back and made a 2 inch flap of unattached vinyl. It was a perfect seat back too.

    It's okay. I found another.

I would say, take out the carpet, take out all the tar under it and replace the WHOLE floor and back with sound deadening. The stuff I used only weighed 20lbs for 50sqft and I used a little less than 100, so <40 lbs added, but I'm sure I took 10 or so lbs of that old tar stuff out.

Also get a nice stereo, that fixes everything, but the sound deadening was a huge difference i think.

Everyone is tripping off adding weight, but whats 30-40 lbs in a street car?

My car still weighs in a 2805 lbs with a 1/2 tank of gas and full interior, a 12" sub, and 2 amps.

I have powerflex CABs, the black ones which are basically yellow (stiffer) but black.
Not enough miles on them to be able to make a review but the steering is much better than on stock, no squeek as some have complained about others. So I'm happy so far.

WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THIS INCREDIBLY LOUD ELECTRO MUSIC PLAYING AT ALL TIMES

Seriously though, loud stereo. My rear sway bar (ireland) is pretty noisy over bumps.

Do you like your car? do you intend to keep it, or is it just a "point a, point b" deal?

An aggressive clutch rattles the car too now that I think about it. It's been so long since I've driven an e30 with a stock clutch and totally forgot how smooth it felt till my friend bought a mint 318is slicktop.

Def not a point a to point b type of car... I have 2 others for that. I'm almost feeling like I should get rid of it and save up for a perfect one? Dunno.
