Man, that takes me back.. I remember when I was first starting to play with these things and people were amazed when I got in and hit the button on the overhead check panel (like I was starting up a jet or something..).

I don't have a 'favorite feature'. I just happen to know enough about them to make me comfortable with them and I won't consider really tearing another car apart because that would be 'stepping out of my comfort zone'.

I have basically everything that the OBC does on the E30, on my '84 S12's Drive computer. When was the 13 button OBC first offered?

The S12 even talks to you. It's dinger is a woman speaking. Recorded on a wee little vinyl record that plays through the speakers.

          BUT! Favorite E30 thing?

          The elegance in the simplicity.

The exhaust tip. After about 10 minutes of idle and some vaseline.

YESS! I got serious lols out of changing the voltage regulator in my parking garage with only a screw driver, which of course came from the tool kit. That and I was able to get the part same day from a non-euro parts place (not the a-zone, etc.).

I totally forgot about that, I love the reverse-opening hood. I get people ALL the time asking me where I got the kit to convert it. People complain about it, but I love it. If it gets in my way, 6 bolts and it's off.

Those people obviously haven't worked under the hood of an E30 in a garage.

Lighting the whole engine bay using overhead lighting without removing the hood FTW!

I love the dash layout, and the way the HVAC center panel is angled towards the driver. Very clever.

Check panel, when your high and you feel like han solo and make chewbacca(passenger) flip the switch(check button) to light speed.

the thing I love the most about a stock e30 is the ability to drive over a slightly raised man hole cover and not take out an oil pan

The sunroof, especially how it vents.
                              The head lights.
& the ridiculously amazing amount of options it is capable of having.
