PURGED - And it feels so good...

Since I'm moving in about a week, I just made 2 trips to the dump, one of which was almost all E30 parts. 2 full sets of tan door cards, tons of hoses, old radiators, fluid reservoirs, control arms, interior and exterior parts, all kinds of shit. All stuff I tried to sell, but no one wanted.

IT FEELS SO AMAZING TO GET RID OF ALL THAT SHIT.

Of course I kept a few little bits here and there, but I was so tired of hoarding old E30 parts. Maybe this wasn't thread worthy, but I had to share. If you're sitting on a huge pile of random parts just gathering dust, seriously, just take it all to the dump.

Damn. If you were in my city, I'd be at that dump right now.

Maybe not the best forum to say you just threw away a bunch of E30 parts...

yeah that kind of stuff is super helpful to have around locally, I would have taken some of that, but I am in CO...

I am sure if you made a CL ad for free E30 parts you wouldn't have even had to bother taking them to the dump.

          Jus sayin...

Ask me if I'm worried about it. I even made a thread a few months ago with all of this shit for $5 + shipping, no one wanted anything. Most of it was covered in dust and cobwebs. There's no way in hell I'm packing and moving all of this stuff to a new house just to have it sit in a big pile in my garage again. There's not enough of an E30 crowd around here to bother with a CL ad, and most of this stuff would cost more to ship than I'd get for it selling it.

10 years in this game, you get a little tired of stockpiling piles of parts you're never going to use and that no one wants.

I might have to do this soon. I realized that almost all of this shit that I have, it is more of a hassell to sell and shit then it would be to take it to the dump.

Did the same thing myself. Seems like a shame to toss stuff but it make no sense to keep it.

I had mountains of shit piled up from hoarding everything I could get my hands on...ends up, its not worth it. Only super rare shit I would never come about again, like an m3 shell, or a dogleg tranny. Everything else gets sold unless it has a need within 3 months.

Yep. I kept a few interior trim pieces like the cluster trim and a few dash parts, but that was pretty much it.

Feels good to unload piles of large bulky parts, been there many times and often leaves a much more organized garage/work space.

with metal prices the way they are You can get ok bucks for scrap value if you have a Scrap recycler near you.

and I hope it is a good move for you, I hate moving SO much, but if it is a good thing, then Congrats on the new place. (from a guy who has moved 6 times in 10 years)

i've moved 4 times in the last 5 years, and each time you find yourself re-evaluating the importance of holding on to extra 'stuff'. for small stuff $1-$50, the effort/time to store, move, and market stuff is not worth the $ made when sold. i just changed my rotors on my e30 the other day, removing the cross-drilled rotors that were on there. sure, they were perfectly fine and i could have have them resurfaced and sold them for a couple bucks, but it was way better to just throw em away and spend no more time thinking about them.

I was in the same place last year.
After I sold what I could on here, I made the rest free. lolcantturn and jaxfod came and picked it all up a few days later.
I'd much rather give parts away to a forum member then have to go bring them to the dump. And usually people remember when you do nice things, if you ever need to ask them for help one day, or if you buy something from them later on.

Just give stuff away for free locally. That is what I did. Better than seeing it go to waste.
