I'm sure an $800 engine swap is cheaper than a $50 belt kit. right? :p

If he didnt put the little rubber flap thing between the timing case cover and the block, the belt can be exposed.

The only way I can see this happening is if it was really windy and it was really light snow...or if you had no front end and where drivin through snow banks.

Maybe a friend did it as a practical joke?

Not sure if any of you know this, but snow is frozen water. If snow hit the timing belt it would likely thaw and not do any damage at all.

Thus why I said it would take a chunk of ice to do anything. Soft snow isn't going to cut it.

Yeah, it would melt when it contacted the block and basically anything connected to it. That's how we've established that the OP is full of it and why he has suddenly not noticed this thread.

I never knew everyone on this forum was a meteorologist.

I know Andy personally, he wouldn't go outside and intentionally PACK SNOW under his car for a picture to satisfy the forum shit talkers.

And F34R, please just shut the fuck up for a few months or so.

Tb was replaces less than 5000 miles ago. I am assuming the belt skipped from the snow. I havent even taken the m20 apart and im not going to. And for the record this m50 is costing me less than 500.
