That car is worth $800 to the right buyer. It can be parted out and made a LOT of money. I bought a 91 325i auto with a snapped timing belt last summer for $750 and parted it out and made almost $3,000, and I didn't even sell the 4.10 LSD or black leather seats (they went in my car). I still have the engine, head, tranny, new OEM exhaust, and some other parts as well.

What is it worth to you? Or better yet what would be the amount you would pay for it and let the haggling begin.

You mamaged to make 3 grand?? WHOA. Was this all on the little pieces? Or, what items were your big tickets? I haven't made close to that off mine, course I kept alot, but even then. Did your 3 grand include the cost of the car, or that was after the cost?

        Just wondering.

I'd offer say...$450 for it. unless the body's mint, it's worthless..

What kind of car is your parts car? I think the only cars worth parting are late models. Big items were the bumpers/valance/body panels, engine accessories, black interior, ECU, stuff like that. I also took the time to part some parts to get more money from them, i.e. I sold the intake manifold painted black for $75 on eBay.

I paid $500 for a 89 auto is in near perfect condition... with a broken t-belt.

I paid $900 for a 89 ix 5 speed with a broken t-belt that was not in near as good condition cosmeticaly.... but the 5 speed and the awd made it worth a bit more to me. I thought of it as a $400 5-speed/awd swap which I still think was a good deal.

but yeah, automatics suck compared to the manual unless you drive in heavy traffic every day.

Mine was an 88 325is, so it had metal bumpers. I'll sell the valance eventually, but I'm keeping it to put on my car. I still have all tranny swap pieces, tons of misc. interior parts and the whole car's wiring harness. That's surprising though! Nice job, I bet that was nice. ;)
