    Classic Trucks

I've always wanted an old classic truck, clean it up, chrome it up, and have it on hand for whatever it's needed for or just to kick back on the mountain with some whiskey, beer, girls and grub.

So I've been looking around and I really like the 1957 Chevy's, that's the style I'm looking at getting at least.

Anyone one have some suggestions or good resources or any kind of input on the subject?

I don't know much about 'em old trucks except I've always loved 'em and I'm looking to get one sometime in the future, even if it's a project.

We've got a '55 Dodge PU. 3speed on the column. 55k documented original miles.

We've got it torn down up front for paint. Runs like a sewing machine. Got it for $500 when the guy who had it's house was sold and leveled for a gas station. I remember it sitting there since I was a kid. Never moved except to mow the grass under it.

Been getting on my dad to finish it, but he keeps throwing money into other shit, lol.

How would you drive back if you go to mountain with whiskey and beer? Do you have a cottage to stay overnight? Would girls you're mentioning stay with you in the cottage as well?

Bring underage girls who can't drink but can drive.

        Problem solved.

Love classic trucks. I am building a '61 F100 right now with crown vic suspension and a 302 roller stroked to 331.

The pic on the trailer is the day I bought it. Its in a million pieces right now. Basically have just mocked up the frame and build the motor. Next step is driveline and then onto rust repair and body work. I am going to spray it back to it's original Corinthian White and rechrome all the parts that are supposed to be chrome. I can't decide if I want to do modern larger diameter wheels or classic.

Turquoise and white two tone would be awsome. Never though about camping.

JasonC and Regnu those are both wicked!

Fat fenders, step-side, so damn beautiful..

I want a flat turquoise, chrome-clad and I usually don't like anything but classic wheels on classic cars. I mean you can take a classic and mod it up a little, make it super clean and it will look good with newer bigger wheels but eh...

If you ever seen American Restoration. Ricks Ford on there had a nice set of normal wheels. Now it has those ghetto hooptie bling things. IMHO i'm not a fan of big wheels on older cars or trucks. Looks like a rapper got ahold of it.
