    I was really interested in the scissor lift, though I'm horrified at what it would cost. I do very, very little work on my car that would require it, but if it's a good price, it certainly wouldn't hurt to at least design aroudn it.

    I really like the in floor scissor lift you'll find on garagejournal by the guy with the replica rsr from Los Angeles. There isn't really a lot of need for a full fledged lift for basic at home stuff, but getting a few feet off the ground for basic maintnance really is quite a benefit. Also, this route, you won't need 14' of clearance.

    I want to move from the house into the "backyard cottage," it's called. So every foot bigger the garage is, my living space is smaller. It's annoying that Seattle limits you to 800ft, but I've gotta live with it. I just don't need a 3bedroom house at this point in my life, doesn't make sense to hold that down.
