you can do it even cheaper if you use a old phone lying around. sign up for minimal service, should be around a few dollars for a whole year. turn all volumes to 0, hard wire into electrical system and stash somewhere hard to find. You can even take the guts out and put into a plastic box to make it look like a relay or something. but with this cheaper way, without the gps phone, they can only trace it to about a 1 mile radius, I think. alot better than nothing or you can do what's on the link. -
That other car listed is the M30 jalopy that has been for sale in the DC area forever.Leave a comment:

and maybe a nv camera. i installed one watching the front of my house. the omnious red nv LEDs keep my cars untouched. i once left my e30 unlocked for 2 weeks and my ipod in plain sight. no one touched it. my street gets a lot of traffic and it's not in a great neighborhood. lower middle class.Leave a comment:

there are cheaper ways than lo-jackhappy to hear you found it, I wanna know if it was master keyed or what because if it was then you know you had an interaction with them at some time. The suspense itt is like a well written screenplay. Now wheres the counter-theft install thread? I always wanted to lo-jack my car for horror stories like this.Leave a comment:

Glad you found the car :)
Hopefully all this junk with the police and towing blows over and you can rest assured knowing it won't happen again.. If you properly keep it under lock and key this time ;)Leave a comment:

after reading this, makes me wanna go into the habit of covering my VIN number and putting the car club on everytime i get home for the next few days till the valance is fixed, scares the shits out of me because like i mention in another post, the neighborhood i live in has gotten bad, due to Section 8 apts that were recently built down the street, and just found out someone stole my gas cap, not the door but the cap itself, WHO THE FUCK STEALS THAT SHIT!?!? damn idiots i hate them low life thieves
but on topic, OP, glad to hear you got the M3 back, very beautiful ride, i hope those idiots get slapped in the face by justice
