I just drove an E60 ///M5. Oh My God.

Hey guys-
Well, we got our first E60 M5 today at my dealership. I was fortunate enough to get it as a PDI (pre-delivery inspection) and that involves a QC road test. This car is fucking amazing. The only thing I wish was different was that the engine make a bit more noise. It is a lot quieter than it should be, IMHO.
Anyhow, post your thoughts on this 5 seater super-car.

i envy you so much. i've always wanted to drive a smg, but you got to do with a new m5. Not fair. Maybe if i put on a business suit, shine my car right up, and go to a BMW dealership talking on a cell phone, they'll let me test drive a smg 6er or something.

the new five series are so sweet. I don't what anybod says about them being ugly. they are awsome in person. I'd love to drive the new 545i 6speed sport.

I can't want for the 535i and 335i cars comming next year with the 3.0L Twin Turbo setup. 355hp should be fast as hell in the E90.
The SMG is cool, I never even made it past 3rd gear on my road test though, as the M5 has a peaky powerband, it doesn't respond well attemps at accel through the lower rpm range (sub 4k rpm). The M5 is really like an E30 M3 in how it rev's, you gotta ring it out to extract the power.
