I have yet learned the art of holding my tongue. If I know they are wrong I tell them =)

It only gets worse with age and more gained knowledge. Ever look back and remember the halfassed BS you tried to pass off? I once posted coilovers on CL before I ever knew how they worked and how lower affected inserts and shocks.

A nice guy on CL contacted me and proved me wrong after each argument I sent back. I thought they were the correct shocks needed since coilovers were already on it. I did not know shit in the world of modding and race performance at the sweet age of 16. 9 years later I sit back and wished I knew his email so I could thank him for PROVING me wrong and informing me of how things worked and what I had in person. Granted I was only asking 90 for the coil adjusters with springs that were 3 months old(receipt was in the car).

But the fact behind the "cool starry bra" is if he did not take the time to "speak up" then I would have been in the dark about how coilovers, valving, damping and proper springs rates effect insert pairing.

Because of him; I kept the adjusters/springs, threw away the blown stock inserts and bought proper ones and slammed my Honda Civic hatchback the proper way. Everyone starts someplace and my life in the world of tuning started with coil adjusters/springs and blown shocks with a CL ad 9 years ago =)

But I guess what I am getting at in a round about way is; if no one speaks up they will go on being in the dark. That guy in the office does not know jack about cars and is mixing info he gathers from TV races and shit to sound smart to a girl. Nothing wrong with that, maybe take him aside when the ladies are not around and teach him.

Find out the make of his car and teach him how HP works when you do the math from crack to wheel. Or proper tires or whatever, guys honestly bond though cars so instead of trying to make him look dumb inform him away from others. That will make him more prone to listen to you. No one likes to be made a fool in front of someone, let alone women.

I never knew what it was. Not many people had heard of it when I was a kid.
Though it is often said to be on the "Autism Spectrum", it is not autism.
There is argument whether it is related to Autism at all.
Some say no one outgrows it, they just learn to adapt.

And I say it's a personality trait, not a disorder, just like ADD. People just look for every excuse to explain behavior that is deemed strange.

I sometimes email CL people to correct things. I don't even bother when they say their BMW's a V6 though...those people are beyond hope.

One time I heard a girl in my class say, "I hate driving my dad's jeep because it's a two stroke and it goes *vhrrruuummm* when you push the gas"

I held back on the 0.00000001% chance that she actually had a two stroke jeep.

A guy yesterday told me about how he likes watching drag races and said he's seen cars do "like 5 seconds" and when I was like "the fuck.." he said "Yeah like 5 to 10 seconds".

                  +1

if i hear someone talk about anything that i have the slightest knowledge about, and i am more than 60% sure they are wrong, i will open my mouth without a second to spare to completly out them as an idiot, and (hopefully) prove them wrong infront of their friends, or girls that hes trying to impress.

                  so to answer the OP,

no, i have never had that feelings becuase i will always open my mouth.

and the few times ive been wrong, the person im outing still ends up looking like more of an idiot than i do..

Well for me it was more just consciously learning mental and social habits that most people have naturally, then after awhile they become second nature. But again I was a pretty mild case. I do still have some symptoms like APD--it's hard for me to understand people in loud environments or people with thick accents. But I am pretty social at this point, even if it did take some robotic social analysis along the way to get to where you can feel social situations out and interact normally with the average person.

Gaah WTF am I doing it's 1AM and I have work... see there's the executive function failing :p

Especially with cars or guitars or bikes, hearing people brag about things they don't know is always entertaining for me. I just chuckle to myself because I don't want to argue over something trivial..ignorance is bliss.

Wow, I always attributed that to my years of working in a loud workshop and to loud music.
I didn't know AS could contribute to it.
I knew sensitivity to loud sounds is an AS trait. I still wonder how it is that I can
be hard of hearing AND sensitive to sound. I'm such a light sleeper that if a fly
sneezes outside a triple pane window, it will wake me up.

My sign language teacher (I was studying interpreting for awhile) said that
a lot of times people who hear unequally in left & right ears (one weak ear)
have trouble picking a conversation out from background noise. I do have
that problem - maybe AS also contributes to it though. Thanks - good info

Sooo, have you ever been at a local car meet around a group of friends and that one dude with too much say, completely full of air. Starts talking about theoretical horse power and gains. His theories have never been proven (because he's wrong), yet, he will be putting it on a dyno to put out #s and proven, blah blah blah.

Yeah...., I sneak away with an agreement smile, so to not be drawn back in and eventually end in an argument.
