i had bridgestone re040s and toyo t1rs on my rx8. both were great tires. i liked the t1r more, it's a better tire.
im currently running dunlop direzza z1s on my ix and they are great tires too. i havent really had a chance to put them through their paces though. but no complaints so far.AWD > RWDComment

I love my Nittos. Neogens on the E30 and Invos on the E90. Dunno about you guys, but I buy mine online and just bring it to a mom and pop shop to mount them. Still a lot cheaper then buying from them and I can still give them some business.Comment

I have run several sets of BG Goodrich G-Force TA KDW's and KDWS's... Love them despite slight road noise and they take a bit to warm up to maximum grip. Good treadlife though if you rotate them! Thinking of goin with the Dunlop Z1's for the e30 next month since it is the only sticky road tire sold on Tire Rack that fits my 14'ssigpicComment

I can tell you right off the bat that this article isn't spot on. Brand dealers do not always get better deals on their tires than other stores. I work at Discount/America's Tire. We get tires from Goodyear cheaper than Goodyear because we actually sell more Goodyear tires than their own stores do. Also, we both go through the same Goodyear affiliated distributor to get out tires.
And I'm not just trying to push the company I work for, but Discount Tire will get you the best price when everything is said and done because we'll beat any price out there. The best way to do it is to find the cheapest price you can for the tires you want (it'll almost always be either Discount Tire or Tire Rack). If Tire Rack has a better price then get a printout of what it'll cost to get the tires after shipping. Next, call around and get the best price you can on mounting your hypothetical tires from Tire Rack. Combine the two quotes, take them to a Discount Tire, and you'll get a best price.Comment
