HS Web Developer, Looking for some feedback!

Well I'm a junior in high school and i am getting a good deal of praise for my website (considering Ive never done this before and I'm doing things that the teacher isn't teaching) so I would like feedback on what I can do to make it better to advance my understanding of what makes a good website.

So if you could take some time and complete the survey after browsing my site i would be very appreciative.

I plan on a double major/minor in Architecture and Web Development if I can.

    Here is the site!

    Here is the Survey!
Create and publish online surveys in minutes, and view results graphically and in real time. SurveyMonkey provides free online questionnaire and survey software.

    Your time is appreciated!

I'll be honest - it's not bad for just starting out, but it reminds me a LOT of the typical "home page" from ~1995 when I was doing this stuff.

code looks pretty clean though, what are you using? some sort of WYSIWYG editor, or hand coded?

Working on getting the CSS to look a little more fancy, but right now I'm keeping it clean.

You've got a ways to go.

Just keep at it. Do a lot of reading and research on your own. I used to take those classes in high school and browse the net for 30 minutes, and put something out in 10-15 minutes and got an A. They won't teach you anything but the bare bones basics.

You have no idea, if you check out the other websites in my class although I'm way ahead, even though my grade sucks cause I screw the homework.

Yeah, not to jump on the bandwagon, but very dated.

Lol, no I bet it is! You're on your way.

Reality is, some people are coders, others are designers. It's rare to be both. Your site looks very 90's to me, your code may be great (I'm on an iPad so I can't view source). Do what you need to do to pass, if you want to do this for a living pick up some design books, or google web design inspiration.

Not bad for your first site - but you've got ways to go. Honestly, I wouldn't bother learning web design.

Yea I'm taking requests from a lot of friends what they want on the site, that's why their are some Funny pictures and stuff like that. I'm working on integrating more Flash into my website to make it really pop, after i of course make my site more polished. I Want a white/black/blue color palette with some nifty UI navigation bars and a polished appearance. But ill save that for my final project website.

Mind you guys this is only like 4 weeks of learning haha.

HAHAHA Someone bombed the survey with all Worst answers. Not even being realistic about it. My Code is clean so its fairly obvious someone just bombed it.

your code may work flawlessly, but it's pretty obvious you're not a designer whatsoever.

                            it looks awful.

haha yeah. I 35-ish year old mathematics prof from russia made that. It is very difficult to navigate. Also, the class is a pain in the ass. I hate math.
