Your opinions on these cars--no M5s

Help in my choosing for a new car.

    1995 540i white/tan auto $7100 136,600

    1995 540i green/tan 6-speed $8900 110,400 *SSK, chip*

    1995 540i black/tan 6-speed $8600 85,000

    1997 540i black/black 6-speed $12850 103,000 *wheels, body stuff*

    1995 540i white/black auto $6500 xxx,xxx *wheels*

Even though the wheels would go on every car (maybe not the e39 actually), its still something I can sell, so its something I look for.

Kind of a vague post to post opinions on, but with that being said, I vote for the E39.

I dig 4. Looks great and has a lot of nice small details.

However 5 is nice.... even if it is auto you probably won't be driving your new car quite like you drove the E30. Plus leaves money leftover to the max.

My vote goes to the E39 as well, I've always dreamed of having one of those.

I should probably add that the e39 has a salvage title.

With the 540's I believe... they need a lot of maitenence around 80-100k miles. Ask some BMW Tech's. I think it was transmission stuff but I will have to double check. That being said... I go number 2 because of the higher mileage. With the higher mileage hopefully most of the maitenence stuff will have already been done. Obviously... check over the car throughly before you buy it. But you already know that :) Good luck with finding the right car. I love e34's. Good choice.

Has to be a SHITLOAD of damage to salvage title an e39 - too valuable to total - run away.

personally i would get a 525 or 535. My grandfather has a 525 w/ a s50 in it and man does it fly. He has ronal lv's, zender kit including the wing and countless other stuff. Its an alpinweiß like mine :)

i don't approve of any of the 5 series if it's got a nikasil engine.... the 97 i'm ok :)

FYI make sure that any of the e34 doesn't have a nikasil engine or the block has been replaced at least

Yeah, I'm going to make sure they all have had the blocks swapped.

I'm retarded...the e39 has a theft recovery salvage title...not sure what that means exactly. No collision or mechanical history.
