    Oh my god!

So my regular parts salesman at the local dealer quit. I knew he was giving me good deals on parts but I figured it was the regular brother in law discount. Well shit, little did I know my local dealer was charging people 120% markup (until now).

Fuck, they wanted $80 on a part that wholesales for $19 and BavAuto sells for $25. I guess I just had no clue why so many people were bitching about how much the dealerships charge but I know now.
    Im now E30less.

That sucks, being able to get parts cheap and right now, is tough to do these days. I was just up at Sun motors in PA, just a semi-small urban dealer. They wanted 175 for an iS spoiler and had no clue what headlight adjusting screws were.

yup, fuck the dealership. They wanted $40+tax for m42 head bolts, I ordered through an indy for $20 OTD (including tax and shipping).

      Fuck the dealership.

        Fuck them.

Its all about finding someone who will hook you up.

        I couldn't image rebuilding a motor/car without hookups.

Blunt and I have an account under one name at the local dealership. With his "group buys" on 02 and E9 parts, we are the largest account in terms of sales. They think so highly of him that he's out at SEMA this week with the dealer... I'm not exactly sure what our discount is, but its pretty damn good.

I assume you are talking about Baron right? I have a buddy that just purchased a e36 M3, and had it inspected there, the fuel pump on that thing went out within a week. I don't see how you couldn't notice the drop in performance that comes along with fuel pump falure if you had driven an M3 before. when the fuel pump on my e12 went out, I could tell power was going down hilll for like a month before it quit. they told him it was one of the nicest m3's that they had ever seen, and he would be a dumb if he didn'tbuy it. I think they wanted to fix the fuel pump. which they did, for over $10000 .

Thats not as bad as the bullshit that Crown toyota pulled on me with my tacoma a while back, took it in there to get a new clutch, I went ahead and ordered a TRD (toyota racing development) heavy duty cluth ftom them. the first one they get is a stock toyota clutch, they call me to tell me that they got sent the wrong one, (not that they ordered the wrong one) the first thing that comes to my mind is that they would order the TRD clutch from a different place, but whatever. a couple of days go by and they call again, this time "they" sent them a stock clutch for a supara. a couple more days later they call back again this time they got sent a TRD clutch for a supara, this time when they called my the first thing i sayed was what wrong clutch did you doutchbags order this time, they were not to happy about that. a couple days later they got the right one, at this point my truck has been in there for over a week. they never call me back that day so I went in there at 5:30, and asked if they fucked up again or if they are going to be done with my truck yet. (I should add that this whole time I am waiting for them to put my clutch in so I can take it to Kiefs and get a stereo installed before I drive to california).
they say "yes, they are finishing up right now, look its coming down off the lift right now" the tech lowers my truck to the ground and gets in it, (this is at 5:35, they close at 5:30) starts the motor and puts in in reverse, goes to let out the clutch and.....nothing, truck doesn't move. the service manager says " well it looks like they need to do some final ajustment, its not going to be done today.
At this point I am PISSED I ask him to explain what exectly there is to adjust on a clutch from a 99 tacoma, he has no response, I tell him rather loudly that this is fucking ridiculus and I am not happy at all. I go get in my car and fo the biggest burnout that my e12 has ever seen out of the parking lot. ( I later learned that what they had done was to put the clutch disk in the wrong way.)
                But thats not the end.
I pick up my truck, take it to kiefs, then het the road, I get to about Salina(2 1/2 hrs west of Lawrence) and I hear this odd whining. I pull onto the first exit and when I go to take my tuck out of 5th, tis harder to do than it should be, I pull on it pretty got and am rewarded with a large clunk. plus I can't get it back into any gear. I get my truck towed back to the nearest toyota dealership, in Manhatten. then get somone to drive up there and pick us up. when I call them the next day the first thing that they ask is " have you replaced the clutch resently?" turns out my transmision is bone dry and there are no sighs of ANY fluid on the case that would indicate a leak. those fuckers drained my tranny!!! then denied that there was any way that they would drain the tranny while replacing a clutch, which is complete bullshit. fuckers never took responsability. I get a discount at Molle toyota in state line so I was able to bet a brend spankin tranny for 2 G's which is alot less than they should be but still. this was when I was in highschool and my dad didn't want to go to the trouble of taking them to court.
man...I am getting pissed just thinking about it.

                    +1.

We have two BMW dealerships in my area and I don't give business to either one. When I first got into E30s I bought a few parts from one of these stealer since I had little knowledge about the discount eVendors where you get the deals from. Now that's where I do nearly all my purchasing for new stuff. Used bits I source from forums like this one.

As far as I'm concerned, the dealer can just bite me.

My local dealership is within reason for being a dealership. I go there when I need parts TODAY and can't wait for shipping.

We don't have a dealership. Order it or don't have it.

The only thing I have got at Baron is a replacement high beam.
It's nice that there are discount eVendors that sell Genuine BMW parts, there are not realy any places like that that I have found for toyota parts, so I am forced to go to the stealership.

Are you shitting me? Ten grand for a fuel pump? I cannot believe that at all.

I found a possible new hookup through their wholesale parts division so I am back on track, it was just nice to be able to have my dad go to the retail counter and pick shit up for me until when I couldnt get to KC.

As it turns out I was getting plus-10, or basically half-price on everything. Now I just get wholesale prices. Not quite as good but its more honest than what I was getting before and even though I think they are cheezy for trying to charge someone such a high markup I dont really want to be a cheat.

Shit I cant bitch too much, I still buy wine by the bottle in restaurants.
