I might stop at Walmart and buy a small gas can tomorrow...
whenever I get a new car, I like to run it all the way to empty
once to see how far you can go after the gauge says it's empty.

lol, going from my TDI to my 318is is a kick in the pants every time I fill it up. From 1.25/L and doing 1100km a tank, to 1.45/L to closer to 500km (never really pushed it, thats just a guess as to what I could get... maybe...)

I followed a semi on a flat section of freeway at 55 mph and the milage thing was reading just over 40 mpg.

I'll drain a quarter tank in my 12 miles to work from home. No matter what car, but it's worse in the M3.

With a lead foot, I seem to average around 12litre per 100km, or 19.6MPG in the 323i.

but I didn't hear any pinging on regular. Maybe I need to advance the
timing a bit. And check compression.

Or add a supercharger so that I can glue on a Mercedes "Kompressor"
emblem. And make the other emblem "318ik" :)
shit! that sounds terrible. my manual ix gets 23 in mixed driving across the board. i know its only advertised at 17 city 23 highway, but i was thinking that wasn't very good. i recently picked up a 91 318 sedan. it isn't registered so i haven't driven it other than from the seller's house to mine. just by watching the fuel econometer and comparing it to my ix, i was thinking it appeared to get in the low 30's.
