my biggest complaint about the car is the crazy wind noise blowing off the "a" pillar at highway speed. i have to wear an ear plug in my left ear. i know there is a wind deflector that goes over the back seat but i think it looks like crap and they are impossible to find. i wonder if anyone made one of those smoked side window deflectors for the cabrio that old people have on their suburbans?
i put my rear seat back on a hinge, and also fitted a thin peice of plexi on the back, this works so well, that i can put a peice of notebook paper (or small reciept from a gas station) on my dashboard, and it will stay put, up to 40mph..and it stays quite comfortable at all speeds...keeping the heated air closer, and the girls hair in place...
and it doesn't need to be higher then the headrests...imo the oem windscreen looks like a huge fly-swatter.
mine is sleek, and can be stored in the trunk against the rear lights, and barely noticable...also can be left in place with the top up too.

I haven't driven my vert in months, especially with the top off...can't wait for the weather to really get nice here, will steal the car back and take it for a nice windy drive to Bend...nothing better than driving it on a warm night with the top off, 100% agreed there.

when it folds down, no-one knows the difference, and no structual changes were made

life didn't give me a full glass, so i got a smaller cup..and the whole thing cost less then 20 bucks (recylced plexi-free)
thanks for the props, its not a perfect car, but it is fun
if you want to make your own, i have learned that 85% or more wind is blocked by the downforce on the seats .and just a small fraction of the screen keeps the wind from coming back in the cabin...i was thinking of a fiberglass shell, but that would take up so much room and wouldn't fit in the trunkLast edited by idanity; 05-09-2012, 10:34 PM.3 pedal club
