Although my e30 is not a vert, I remember the night I picked up my Lotus and drove 3 hours home with the top down on a warm summer night. It was a pretty awesome experience.

Looking forward to getting in back on the road.

I remember doing this with my vert. Now the closest thing is opening the moon roof in my e28 and cruising with the gurgling of an exhaust leak in the downpipes. Just makes the silence that much more golden when I stop at an overlook on the parkway.

wait until your out with that chic youve been after for months, finally says yes, you go out, and she looks up to see a meteor shower, and then, the radio plays her favorite song, ive taken my cabrio out many a times like that.

oh, and the 4th of july is another great night to cruise..especially if fireworks are legal there like they are here, the entire freeway ride was full of lights...its times like that, i prefer to go slow, and enjoy the ride.

also, the random airplain going in for landings, takeoffs, always a cool view..but what makes it classic is the warm summer air, feels softer, and sparks the mind to just chill out and enjoy the world around.

that said, i do prefer the hardtops for performance, but had a special spot for ragtops since my 1961 scout...took that to mexico onen too many timies.

I took the girl I like downtown Seattle in mine, she cranked up the radio and put on some shades. Hopefully all goes well even though prom wasn't that great. She seems like a keeper haha.

Beach Cruisin on warm summer nights with the drop top and windows down is like a peaceful nature serenade...

That is what my vert was made for!

i've got many fond memories flying down back roads in the country late on summer nights driving home from the ex's house. nothing beats a 70+ degree night, wind basting on you, and stars/moon so bright you dont need headlights. good times just listening to the engine...

my girlie girl bitches about her hair too. the good news is that she is willing to throw on a baseball cap. one of our favorite past times is driving through nice neighborhoods and checking out all the houses with the top down. unobstructed view.

my biggest complaint about the car is the crazy wind noise blowing off the "a" pillar at highway speed. i have to wear an ear plug in my left ear. i know there is a wind deflector that goes over the back seat but i think it looks like crap and they are impossible to find. i wonder if anyone made one of those smoked side window deflectors for the cabrio that old people have on their suburbans?

I don't like the seat belt flap going down the highway. Have to put the window up about an inch to stop your shoulder from getting bruised.

But I've said it before, that flap is just the seat belt applauding you for driving a 'vert and being awesome with the top down.

Ive actually gotten used to that noise. It annoyed me when i first started driving the car, but it tends to quiet down ;) Also if you get a good seating position then it wont bug you. Im not a very tall guy, so i sit closer to the windshield. The only wind that hits me is the air swooping from behind me. You follow me?

I want to get a wind deflector really bad. I just with they wernt so damn expensive.

I agree with you in both ways sir!
I got a bruise on my shoulder when i drove up to SOWO. I know i was doing 80+ on the free way. Being applauded at the same time.

Nothing beats driving with the top down.. only problem, there is only room for three laydees.
