It's so ugly, they should have got the point back in 2010 when no one wanted it in their series.

Race cars need to be good looking in addition to performing well, that's why Daytona prototypes aren't as popular.

I didn't know it went back that far. The spokeswoman said it's running Le Mans in June.

Yeah - the Deltawing has been around for 2 years now, but sometime within the last year Nissan got on board which helped get things progressed to the point of an actual race entry.

This car is an odd looking thing but I find it to be an interesting engineering exercise. The narrower area of the car makes it more efficient aerodynamically....so it doesn't need massive amounts of power to achieve a benchmark level of performance (i.e. lap time). Even if this concept never gains acceptance in the racing world, it is neat to see some people thinking outside the box and taking a shot at proving their idea.

I like the concept from an engineering point of view, and I hope it proves to be very competitive. Very interested to see it's performance at le mans

Just bumping this thread, such an amazing vehicle.

Found this very interesting video on the car, the designer comes in and gives a good explanation on just how it works. Even shows them lifting the front end off the ground with minimal effort. Amazing.
