Like others, I did not read the entire thread. But I think carbon fiber door handles on a delphin metallic 4 door would look pretty damn good. Even just a cf wrap, to allow daily driver abuse. Now this may be already out there, but just a thought regardless.

No, I didn't read the whole thread.

I would like to have a useful cupholder. Not to hold a slurpy or a gigantisimo double frappe non-fat top-heavy whatever, just a thing that can hold a can or a normal-human sized coffee. Ideally it could clip on/hang from the centre console without screws, but even dangling from the door pockets would be fine.

There are products out there, but they all either look tacky or are '80's BMW stuff for 5 series. I just want a nice, non-damaging place to put my coffee or juice when the road turns twisty or its an up-hill left turn in heavy traffic in the raining dark and I'd rather concentrate on all the F150s in the world rather the risk of scalding my privates.

Clearly the OP can do compound curves and structure... and nice idea, nice offer, my thanks to him.

so I've been getting my subie ready for winter so sorry for the lack of updates.
I'm still perfecting the ways of carbon fiber but I'm doing more 3d shapes now and getting a lot stronger pieces.
designing small light pods to enclose my hella 500's.

    first concept

    second design

    foam mold

1 layer of CF released from the mold

    got some new wheels:)

and doing some rough reinforcement of the inside still need to sand and shape. it already fits decent and I've haven't done much work. Its a very sold piece.

There is a small difference between parts made by some guy in a shed and a multimillion dollar corporation making production parts.

as long as they are internally reinforced for safety as per Fed's requirements. I had a Fiero for the summer, that was all fiberglass., vette style.

Saturn also has a ton of models with fiberglass doors. I know from experience, people try to put vehicle magnets on their doors and they fall immediately to the ground lol.
