Buying a 325IX sedan Salvage title

So, In my search of A new DD i have found me a 325IX sedan.

I was driving to work in the Morning, and i saw it parked outside.
I stopped and left a message a few days later she called me back.

I was busy this time she called me, So i really couldn't ask questions.
But she did tell me it has a salvage title. sHe sent me a photo of the Core support. you can see the new welds, and the one coat of paint. Was her Brothers car and the family had it fixed at a body shop.

The car is serviced by the same Shop i Take my car to when im to lazy to fix something. The timing belt is about 24 months old.

Interior is Fair, but the seats are trashed,Odo gears busted. Ac works good.
Mechanically speaking its top notch,Mostly been sitting. Has The 15'' rims
which i think are Euro weaves?

Its a 90,so it has world bumpers, and its a manual,Plus its the color i want.

Originally My plan was to buy a E30 eta or early I for around $1800 in fair shape, Then add the bumpers $350. Get working AC $800,Timing belt $300
Plus i wanted the 15'' rims so thats another $500

The asking price is $4k What you guys think?

I think that's far too much for a salvage title late model 325ix. You can find something better for the money, I have faith. One thing I've learned is don't settle.

My dad always said "Buying a car with a salvage title is like trying to make a prostitute your wife."

Meaning you'll never love it the same way because of it's tarnished history. But then there's people who don't think twice about it...

Salvage title, with the car confirmed having been in an accident.

        WAY too much.

Mine has a salvage title, but i ended up trading a 535iA to the guy. I got the ix and $300.

I've put probably $2k into the car, and have a good DD.

I fully appreciate that mine will never be a magazine star, but i'm popping my ix cherry, and learning a lot in bringing the car back from "totalled".

I think $4k is too much, but it may be mechanically sound at least.

Mine's a salvage, but it was a MINOR hit on the fender. With a salvage from a more major accident, i'd be very wary. I'd look into it and make sure it drive's perfectly straight and everything lines up. I'd say there's no way it's worth 4k though.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

4k is a lot for a salvaged title even though its an IX. Check it very closely for rust, ifs if solid then i'd say its probably worth it if the is straight. I only paid 1800 for my IX, Needed a rear brake line and it was drivalbe but it had rust

Good luck and post some pics

Don't do it, unless your going to use it as a track car. The insurance co. is not going to want to cover you. If they do and you wreck it your pay out is going to be pocket change.

You guys keep shying away from salvage title cars- makes it easier for me.

                      Thanks.

                          Photos.

I test drove it today The Valve cover was leaking, and so was the Master brake cylinder cap. The radiator was fresh.

The tires are B rating that have around 15k of service on them. A litle bit of edge-wear looked more from lack of rotation.

Should This car have the Projector lights? Or regular sealed?

I don't like the way that shock tower looks. If it sustained that much damage to where that area of the tower was repaired I would stay away. May cause the alignment to never be right and looks very prone to rusting. I bought my ix for 1,800 with salvage title.

Otherwise it looks like a nice car. Even at 2k I would be hesitant to buy it.

I'd buy it for $2100, after seeing the interior of course.
