Why does this happen?

Kind of off topic but how many of you guys always have to put the shifter into second before going into the first gear? I dont know if its just me but Im a bit ocd when it comes to downshifting

Mine goes straight in 1st every time; my synchs are damaged because lately I've been having crazy clutch/master cylinder engagement issues, so the shift from 1-2 and 2-3 is a little rougher than it was 2 months ago when it's cold. Besides that, first gear is butter.

Never heard of synchros locking a gear in place.
