my redneck idea of the day...

What are your thoughts on a twin turbo small block chevy swap into an e30. We had done a regular small block auto swap last year. That project was sold after the motor blew and needed space. Sure ill get shit even for he idea. But hey 5-7lbs would be sufficient for havoc. It would be easier to fit turbo maifolds as the headers would hit the rails.

    Opinions?

Have fun running intercooler piping. Also, that is pretty much more power than any E30 can use.

Why use an intercooler? 5 -7 pounds is doable without. Would be more than enough and power would be hilarious trying to get down. Eventually figure out some insane rear suspenson. But at first just 8000 pound springs and go.

well a 5.7 LS1 has been put in, but it's such a huge engine. doesnt look right. i think ~4.5 liter v8s are probably a perfect size for the e30. m60s look great in an e30.

Do what? An LSx is a very compact engine. An LS 5.7/6.0 is a bit smaller than an m60/62 4.0/4.4

That will never ever ever happen. The motor is long, weighs over 1000 pounds, and the oilpan is HUGE. Even a 4bt cummins is pushing it size wise.

Was going to say the same thing. Ive seen one of these on a motor stand at my boss's garage, the oil pan is very deep (like most full size diesels)

What about a remote mount turbo like in the rear in place of a muffler? I've seen kits made for Camaro's and Mustangs. No need to run an intercooler because you have like 8 ft of intake that runs under the car.

(no idea what car this is on)
